Our mission is to provide meaningful and innovative experiences to enhance the lives of the people we serve. Our purpose is to: Create opportunities for a lifetime of success through a variety of service options. We provide support to enable participants to maximize their chances of success and independence. We offer more/better choices/opportunities to increase independence and success. We educate, encourage and assist with “free thinking, outside the box.” We assist our customers to achieve a higher level of success.
Some of the benefits of inclusion to the person are: • Improved feelings of well-being and self-esteem. • Access to resources and activities not available in the group home. • Expanded “horizons”/life experiences. Participating in activities in different types of settings. • Participation – engaging with others; being known. • Feeling the excitement of being part of a community group. • Opportunities to make new friends and develop new and varied relationships. • Incentive to learn appropriate social behavior.
• More diversity in their relationships. • The cost of supporting people decreases when persons served do not have to rely on paid professionals. This can affect tax dollars needed to provide supports. • People with disabilities can pay taxes if they have a job. • People with disabilities can share their gifts and talents with the community.
WE has given has been a second home to my 59 year old brother who has been a client for over 35 years. It not only provided him with real employment in the community, but has given him friendship, purpose and encouraged independence. WE is a vital resource to individuals with disabilities, their families, and our community.
WE not only provides a safe nurturing environments for the clients they serve, but it is also a great support to their families. Through work that the clients participate in, WE has been able to support local businesses, big and small, while providing an income source to their clients. WE clients are participating in various activities in our community which educates the community of those with intellectual and physical disabilities, makes them aware of WE, and shows employers and fellow citizens the skills that WE clients do have.
From my side, I would say that Wake Enterprises has been a valued partner for decades. Wake Enterprises not only provides an integral service that allows Tipper Tie to satisfy its customers, it also provides an extremely important service to their employees and the community as a whole. Decades ago, Wake Enterprises recognized that there were people within the community that needed a place where they could safely and effectively provide value and service to the local community, as well as local industries. Wake Enterprises stepped up and met those needs, making it a reality for all the individuals and their families that have benefited from the service and opportunities that Wake Enterprises continues to provide; creating a win-win scenario for everyone that is involved.

Assisting the people we serve become as independent as possible. Help participants meet their individual goals through skill-building, vocational training, personal care, and community involvement. Training and supervision provided.
Our participants have a variety of needs and schedules during the week. Positions are Monday-Friday.
Services are provided in our WE facility located at 3548 Bush Street, Raleigh, NC 27609 and the communities of the people we serve. Employees must be able to work independently, take initiative and communicate well with participants and families.
Starting Pay: $15 per hour
– must be at least 18 years old
– must have high school diploma (or equivalent)
– must pass criminal background and drug screening
– some positions must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle
