Wake Enterprises offers a variety of services to overcome barriers to employment. For adults needing a structured environment, we operate a 20,000 square foot work site in Raleigh, NC. Participants receive valuable job skills while completing contracts for local businesses. They earn a paycheck for the work they complete and gain work skills to take back into the community. In addition, with our supported employment and individual job placement, our employment specialist works with individual participants to find jobs within their community.
In addition to being a human service agency, Wake Enterprises is also a business dedicated to providing quality subcontracting, outsourcing, and fulfillment services at a fair price. Our Participants receive job training in areas such as electronic subassembly, corrugated box and insert assembly, shrink-wrapping, and more. By contracting with Wake Enterprises, companies have access to a dependable workforce that provides quality work on time and can avoid wasting payroll dollars by utilizing the Business Services we provide.
Incorporated in 1979, Wake Enterprises (WE)has served
hundreds of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. WE recognizes
the value of everyone’s contribution to their community. Our focus is to
support the participants fulfill their dreams and live an independent and
productive live, while giving back to society. Each participant is unique, and
we approach services from a Person-Centered Perspective. We strive to offer a
variety of programs, that build upon existing individual strengths and desires,
while providing sufficient structure to maintain a high degree of success.
Through various classes and trainings our participants work on gaining new
knowledge about their communities and increase their independent leaving
skills. Wake Enterprises offers and array of activities both in the community
and on-site. For participants interested
in employment, WE partnered with the Vocational Rehabilitation department, to enhance
the possibility of obtaining Competitive Integrated Employment through SPARK
Project. Each Friday is a “Fun Friday” at WE – the participants are encouraged
to suggest different fun activities they would like to be part of. There is music, dance, talent show, guest
speakers, trips and celebration of various holidays. Our participants learn
about Human Rights, Independent Living Skills, Enhancement of Natural Supports,
Diversity and Culture, Socialization and Communication, Money Management and Pre-vocational
skills for those interested in employment opportunities.
